Twitter On Fire As Ghanaians Ask Obrafour To Take On Drake For Sampling His Song

There’s a hubbub on the Ghanaian landscape of Twitter as Ghanaians counsel veteran rapper Obrafour to take on Canadian superstar Drake for sampling a line of one of his old tracks for his latest track.

Drake released his seventh studio album called Honestly, Nevermind and one of the tracks dubbed Call My Name has line culled from Obrafour’s song produced over two decades ago.

The song has the tagline, ‘Kill a Cat blood, Kill a Cat’- which was originally spewed by Mantse Aryeequaye affiliated to Hammer of the Last Two on Obrafour’s Oye Ohene remix featuring Ga rapper Tinny.

Right after it became apparent that Drake employed the line on his new album, it has generated excitement all around as music fans ask Obrafuor to ask Drake to put some bucks on the table.

“Drake sampled Obrafuor in his latest album? Where are Obrafuor’s lawyers? Sika aba fie.” a tweep wrote.

producer King Of Accra also chipped in, “If it is true (because I don’t know) then you have to ask @iamobrafour maybe he is aware and has been paid already. If not then ofcourse it can be taken on for compensation if he did not grant the use of the said sample.”
