PK Sarpong Writes: It Is Not For Kwesi Pratt And NDC To Select The General Secretary For NPP

Popular writer for the ruling NPP, PK Sarpong has asserted that, it is not for Kwesi Pratt and the NDC to select the General Secretary for the NPP. His comments follows the comments made by Kwesi Pratt today on Kokrooko, a political program of Peace FM.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page, P.K Sarpong wrote;

“It is in the best interest of the opposition National Democratic Congress for John Boadu to lose his General Secretary position. To this end, all their communicators have been instructed to campaign against John Boadu while urging the delegates of the NPP to elect someone with ‘new’ ideas.”

He added that it explains why some of their lead communicators have made it a point to either employ subtlety to campaign for his opponent or openly campaign against him. 

According to PK Sarpong, what Kwesi Pratt did on Kokrokoo today was in line with the overall objective of the party to support another aspirant. Mr. Pratt urged the delegates of the NPP to vote for someone with new ideas since those in charge have ideas which may not help the party win power. 

He alleged that Sammy Gyamfi has been on the same tangent of advocating the exit of John Boadu as NPP’s General Secretary adducing some flimsy but hollow reasons behind such a call. 

PK argued that any honest, objective analyst or political pundit would agree that the General Secretary of the NPP, and for that matter, John Boadu, is the live-wire of the NPP, and for that matter, his exclusion from the list of the National Executives to face the NDC in 2024 would inure to the benefit of John Mahama. 

Kwesi Pratt and all those acolytes busily campaigning against John Boadu are doing so because that would make their job quite easy in winning the next elections.”

“Clearly, the NDC would wish to see an inexperienced, novice or naive central midfielder in the position of a General Secretary so that 2024 would be a walk in the park for the NDC. ” He asserted.

He alleged that Pratt benefitted immensely from the Mills and Mahama administrations and would pray for John Mahama to win the next elections. The only impediment in their way is the experienced John Boadu. 

“This explains why these NDC elements are seeking to have John Boadu out of the way so that they would walk back to power with ease. Let’s not allow Pratt and his NDC friends dictate to us whom we should elect as our General Secretary.” He said

John Boadu is their nightmare and for that matter, it is their desirous wish to see him out of the way. We cannot have the NDC selecting our General Secretary for us. He said.
