Former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition NDC has advised the IGP to stop being a social media hero. According to him, the IGP seems to be winning on social media and exciting the people there but the real job is on the ground. He must remain focused. He shouldn’t be distracted by the social media acclamations he is receiving.
Allotey Jacobs describes the IGP as someone he knows very well. He can describe him as one of the best IGPs the country has ever had. But he is of the view that the IGP is doing the bidding of the media space and those bloggers on social media. He cautioned him to be careful because those hailing him today will be the same people who will be shouting he should be crucified if things don’t go well.
He made this assertion known during a discussion on Kokrokoo a morning political talk show aired on Peace FM. He made these statements in response to the happenings at the Islamic Senior High School. He advised the IGP to rather focus on training his men properly in crowd control and social unrest. His officers are becoming happy pulling the trigger. He encouraged him to open more training centres nationwide for his officers.
