A woman known as Maame Yaa Konadu recalls what her stepfather did to her after she fought with him. In the woman’s narration, she stated that her mother got separated from their father when they were young. Their mother again got married to another man named Agya Nyamekye.
The woman shares that their stepfather helped their mother to do a large cocoa farm on their grandmother’s land. She said one day she fought with her stepfather after he went to cut down some trees on the cocoa farm. She then travelled for some time before coming back but the moment she sets her eyes on her stepfather, she started experiencing severe headache pains.
Her legs too got swollen the following day, the woman consulted a fetish priest who revealed to her that her stepfather invoked a curse on her after she had that fight with him. Maame Konadu came back home and asked her stepfather about it, he admitted that it is true. She then went back to the fetish priest with fowls and schnapps to reverse the curse.
Maame Konadu recalls that her brother too had a misunderstanding with their stepfather, he gave threatened him that he will die within a few days and truly their brother died within one week. Their mother too fell sick and died some years later. The woman said their stepfather took over the cocoa farm he did with their mother.
They went to the farm one day when their stepfather traveled. He became angry and told one of his stepchildren that she went to the cocoa farm without his permission, and she too will die in two months. According to Agya Nyamekye, it is true that the land belongs to their grandmother but he did the cocoa for his only daughter whom he had with his late wife but not for his stepchildren. So he can’t hand over the farm to his stepchildren.
