Mr Yaw Opoku Mensah, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education (MoE), following the purported Free SHS T-shirt which cost GHC 38 million, has denied and branded the news as fake.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, 15th June 2022, Mr. Opoku Mensah wrote;
“The attention of the Education Ministry has been drawn to a false news publication by starrfm.com which suggests that the “Ministry is distributing a branded Free SHS T-shirt worth GHC 38 million to students in Ghana.Â
This article isn’t just false but a gross grotesque of fact and reality and should be disregarded by the Ghanaian populace as such.”
Background
Starfm.com announced that bulk printing of Free SHS branded T-shirts for distribution to about 1,274,412 students who are currently in schools across the country.
Starfm.com added that the T-shirts are being procured by the Free Senior High School Secretariat at the office of the Presidency at a cost of Ghc38,232,360. The news has caused many reactions.
