President Akufo-Addo on Friday, 10th June 2022, re-opened the renovated National Museum in Accra.
The Museum which is the oldest and largest in Ghana was opened in 1957, the year of Ghann’s independence. It was closed to the public in 2015 due to lack of maintenance.
The fully rehabilitated Museum has an additional exhibits and artefacts. Its inner roads for the first time have been asphalted.
Also, seven of the vehicles used by former Heads of State, three E-450 Mercedes Benz vehicles, two Nissan Patrols, a limousine and a Toyota Land Cruiser have been added by the curators of the National Museum to enrich visitors experience.
Ghanaian investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni making his judgement on the National Museum has said the government led by Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo deserves commendation for rehabilitation and reopening the facility.
“The government deserves commendation for rehabilitating and reopening the National Museum,” he wrote on Twitter.
