Great Olympics won 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday to complete their Ghana Premier League double over Hearts of Oak. Olympics gained the lead thanks to defender Amos Acheapong, but Hearts were defeated for the third time in a row by forward Yussif Razak, who scored twice.
Hearts of Oak have now lost four consecutive league games to Olympics, with the Phobians’ previous triumph coming in 2020. Hearts of Oak had suffered their heaviest league defeat of the season.
In other matches, RTU defeated King Faisal 1-0 to get closer to escaping relegation. Ronald Frimpong scored practically soon after halftime to seal the win and put RTU in a strong position heading into the season finale.
They have risen out of the relegation zone, and a win over Hearts of Oak next week will guarantee them a spot in the Premier League next season.
AshantiGold came from behind to beat Bechem United 2-1, Medeama beat Accra Lions 1-0, Dreams stunned Chelsea 1-0 in Berekum, Legon Cities and Karela United drew 0-0, and WAFA beat Eleven Wonders 1-0 in Sogakope.
