Recall that the government of Ghana recently apportioned a gargantuan amount as additional seed money to the National Cathedral Secretariat. It raised the concerns of many netizens who condemned the decision saying there are many problems the country is facing which should be tackled instead of a place of worship.
Well, as stated by the Deputy Minister of Finance John Kumah, the National Cathedral will be a big tourist site in the country upon it’s completion and Ghanaians may not have to visit Israel to pray again because they have imported a ‘sacred stone from Jerusalem’.

John Kumah said in an interview; “…In fact we want to connect it to the Solomon Temple in Israel so, in terms of the foundation, we have intentionally gone to Jerusalem for Jerusalem stone for the foundation as a covenant stone, so that when you stand there it will just feel like standing in Israel.”
Reacting, Efia Odo who isn’t very pleased with the government’s decision to build a cathedral stated that the country’s deposition is caused by religion. According to her, government should be focusing on Health and educational sectors of the country and not lavishing millions of dollars on a cathedral.
She wrote:
Religion is literally killing this country. Spend millions on a cathedral but can’t spend millions on our Health and education sectors?
