Our motivation is to beat Asante Kotoko to dent their GPL coronation on Sunday – Elmina Sharks

Relegated Ghana Premier League, GPL side Elmina Sharks said they aim to dent the celebration of Asante Kotoko as champions of the competition on Sunday.

Sharks, will trek to Kumasi to face the Porcupines in a GPL Matchday 33 fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko will be officially crowned as champions of this season’s championship after this fixture against the relegated side.

However, Sharks has vowed to win this encounter on Sunday despite knowing that victory will not prevent them from playing in the second tier league next season.

“Our aim is to defeat Asante Kotoko on Sunday in Kumasi to dent their title celebration”, a club spokesperson told the local media in Elmina ahead of this fixture.

He added: “We will not go down without a fight, and, Kotoko will have to be at their maximum best to beat us on Sunday”.

In the first round of the competition, Sharks came from behind to beat Kotoko 2-1 at Elmina and, a win on Sunday will complete the double over the GPL champions.

And, this, according to their spokesperson is what they intend to do to sign off their GPL campaign on a high despite their relegation and aim to fight back into the top-flight league after next season.
