Mohammed salisu has become one of the emerging talent in the English premier League this season. The young centre-back is one of the key players of Southampton under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Salisu joined Southampton in August 12, 2020 from Spanish side Real Valladolid for a fee of €12.00m. His first appearance for the Saints came in the FA cup match against wolves on 11 February, 2021. Southampton won the game by 2-0 and Salisu played 90 minutes.
His debut premier League match was against Chelsea in a 1-1 draw at the Saint Mary’s with the young centre-back putting in an impressive performance that earn him the love of the fans.
He is a modern type of centre-backs who can also play as a left back. He has great ball playing skills and also very good in the air.
Thomas Tuchel woes continues as Chelsea is set to lose almost the core of their defence. Antonio Rudiger and Andres Christensen is no more part of the his team and the future of captain Azpelicueta and Marcos Alonso is also uncertain.
Chelsea main target has been Sevilla Joules Kounde but they will have to face competition from barcelona.
Salisu will be a good signing should Chelsea make him their primary target. Adaptation and communication will not be a problem for the 23-year-old Ghanaian since he already has two years experience in the league.
Salisu will not cost Chelsea as much as Kounde will do since his release clause is €15.00m.
