Friday May 27 2022 can be described as a bad day in the historic books of M/s Contracta firm in Kumasi when one of the ‘s heavy trucks involved in an accident, killing instantly the driver who was driving the truck.
M/s Contracta firm is the contractor charged to build the second phase of the Kumasi Kajetia Central market project financed jointly by the Ghana government and World Bank respectively.
At the time of going to the press the body of the deceased driver whose name was not immediately available had been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (,KATH) while the truck remained unmoved pending police investigations.
 According to eye witnesses who spoke to the correspondent at the Kumasi Bantama roundabout where the incident took place, the driver allegedly initially involved in an accident at the same at the same spot where the second incident occurred.
Adding that when the police came to the accident scene for probe upon a tip off, no one was met until the driver surfaced later.
The source said upon the driver’s presence, he (driver) allegedly rebuked the police from investigating the cause of the accident and moved away the vehicle apparently to park it at the ‘s site at Kajetia.
But luck however eluded the driver who allegedly lost steering control which led the truck to somersault several times on the road.
It was at this moment when the deceased was found dead under the truck upon checks by the witnesses
Official enquiries made by the correspondent confirmed the story, but the Project Consultant Mr Danso who is also the spokesman for the was not available for a word, and his handy phone also could not be reached to throw more light at press time.
