Accra, May 27, GNA – The Rotary Club of Accra Dzorwulu, a member of Rotary International, has donated items to aid teaching and learning to Dzorwulu Special School.
The items included two LED televisions, a projector screen, a projector, and five boxes of rims of paper, worth GHS9,000.
Mr Brian Kofi Ametsikor, President of the Club, said the donation was to aid teaching and learning in the school.
He said the Club as part of their philanthropic activities to humanity decided to support the School with the items.
“Rotary International is a group that supports humanity. As a resident club in Dzorwulu we decided to support the School as part of our project,” he stressed.
Mr Ametsikor said they reached out to the School on what they needed to support their operations and they requested those items.
Mr Frederick Tetteh, Headmaster of the School, said the items would aid their operations, saying audio visual equipment such as the televisions and projectors made teaching and learning easier for the special students.
“Teaching the students in abstract is difficult. With these items, they would be able to identify with whatever that they were taught,” he indicated.
Dzorwulu Special School, is a school specially set up for children with intellectual disability in Ghana.
The school teaches and trains them to become functional and independent in society.
It currently has 205 students, comprising a 100 girls and 105 boys.
