Robber shoots fuel station attendant and bolts with unspecified money at Assin-Adubiase

Assin-Adubiaae (C/R), May 22, GNA – Nicholas Anderson, 25, fuel station attendant at Star Oil Filling Station at Adubiase in the Assin South District of the Central Region has been shot by an unknown armed robber.

He sustained severe gunshot wounds in the hand and was rushed to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin-Fosu but was latter referred to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, where he is responding to treatment.
Narrating the robbery incident, a co-worker of the victim, who gave her name as Ms Christo Love and an eyewitness, said the incident occurred around 2025hrs.
According to her, the suspect in a black face mask, sneaked through the back door of their office, wielding a short gun.
He pointed the gun at the victim and briskly marched her to her co-worker in another room for them to surrender all their sales made.
In a near resistance by the victims, the infuriated robber shot the victim in the hand during a struggle when the victim attempted to disarm him.
Thereafter, the suspect took all the money and bolted immediately with it.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Daniel Kwabena Darkoh, the Municipal Officer confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency.
He gave assurance of police commitment to go all out to arrest the perpetrator and appealed to the residents to support the police with accurate information that will lead to the arrest of the culprit.
