Former President has been in the news regarding certain comments he made in an interview with Uganda’s NBS reporter Samson Kasumba. The interview centered on areas like corruption, power crises, elections, trade in Africa etc. John Mahama shared his experiences as president and former president. According to John Mahama he will go with any choice his party decides to lead the NDC in the next elections, though not ruling himself out. He noted that his country needs him so if called he will lead the party in 2024.
Interesting while talking about the use of military and force in the country, Mahama bemoaned the use of the military in Parliament to break a brawl. He noted that some investigations should have been done but none was done. Remarkably, he also added that aside the mindbogglingly question of how the military entered Parliament he will also start an enquiry as to how 8 people died in the 2020 elections.
“If we do come to office we will investigate and find out who gave the instruction to kill the 8 people” John Mahama said. According to John Mahama it is unfortunate that President Akufo-Addo hasn’t opened any enquiry or even sent a message of condolence to the families who lost family members.
