A Political lecturer at the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Gyampo has mourned Major Mahama and revealed that he was one of his best students.
In a post shared on Prof Gyampo’s official Facebook page he wrote;
“We have hidden our incompetence and failure to challenge the status quo under the cloak of the cliche that, “the wheels of justice turns slowly”.
No wonder we still cannot interrogate why we wear robes and wigs in our very hot temperate weather, as a sign of wisdom. How does a mere robe and wig show one is wise?
Major Mahama, you were one of my best students. You may forgive your killers, but not those who have demonstrated no empathy that you were gruesomely murdered and made to abandon your wife and little children.”
“We hope that we will one day develop a justice system whose heads won’t pander to bogus cliches, but would radically question them with a view to bringing change. Justice delayed is certainly justice denied. ” Prof Gyampo added.
Rest well, Papa Soldier.
The comments of Prof Gyampo comes as a background to the gruesome lynching of army officer Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama to death On 29th May 2017 at Denkyira Obuasi. It is said that the residents mistook him for an armed thief.
