The Presiding Judge for the Accra High Court, Financial and Economic Division has reportedly taken a fresh decision over Madam Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu’s case. Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu was an appointee under former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress.
She was the MASLOC boss in charge of disbursing funds to the poor and the aged in the country during the NDC time. She is currently standing trial over embezzlement and Financial loss to the tune of over 93 million Ghana cedis.
Contrary to the appeal by the state to trial Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu in absentia, the court has decided that it can’t be possible until all her two sureties appear.
The prosecution wanted Madam Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu to be trialed in absentia because she has refused to come back to Ghana after she begged the court to go for health treatment abroad.
Before her departure, two notable members of the opposition National Democratic Congress granted her sureties to the tune of 5 million Ghana cedis that she will return.
Now that she is no where to be found, the two sureties are expected to meet the court and explain why the 5 million Ghana cedis shouldn’t be taken from them because their confidant ( Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu)has refused to appear in the country. Let alone appear before the court.
