English Premier League Team of the Week After Match-Day 36

Fully scheduled fixtures took off successfully this week in the English Premier League (EPL), a tough week for Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and a few others.

And, as a weekly tradition in football where the best XI is selected, here is the EPL team of the week for match-day 36. The summoned results were 8-victories and 2-draws alongside 33-registered goals with most from Manchester City (5).

Goalkeeper

Robert Sanchez (BHA)

Brighton & Hove Albion cleaned Manchester United out with four goals and Sanchez did great protecting the goal line with 5-stops and a clean sheet.

Defenders

Marc Cucurella (BHA)

The former Barcelona starlet wasn’t left on the score sheet as a center-back. Had the second goal and safeguarded the defense from imminent dangers.

Kristoffer Ajer & Pontus Jansson (BRE)

Starred in four-man defensive units, the duo emerged as the most influential defense duet this week. They exhibited stability, calmed Southampton attackers, and got on the score sheet each without conceding. Good defending techniques right there.

Midfielders

Moises Caicedo, Leandro Trossard & Pascal Groß (BHA)

The trio conjoined in the Seagulls midfield and produced a master-class performance against ‘Red Devils’ at the American Express Stadium on Saturday. Moises hooked on the first goal, Groß with the third, and Trossard – the fourth goal and two additional assists. The trio played with sentiments cramped United Champions League hopes.

Kevin De Bruyne (MNC)

As usual, the Belgian dazzled in the third half of the pitch this week against Newcastle United balanced, the central and attacking roles with exquisite touches. He Hopped on an assist alongside several key passes and created several scoring opportunities ensuring victory at the end.

Forwards

Luiz Diaz (LIV)

Equalized at Anfield against Tottenham, Diaz’s performance was so classy, and one that deserves the maximum points but quite unfortunate at the end. He was Klopp’s best man that faithful day. Utilized the left wing at the highest extreme.

Romelu Lukaku (CHE)

Earned his 14th start against Wolverhampton, Lukaku made Tuchel worthwhile with a brace and emerged as the best player on the field that day at Stamford Bridge.

Raheem Sterling (MNC)

Played his usual right-wing position, Sterling dominated in the Newcastle United Half, bagged a brace, his 12th goal of the season.
