“Hearts of Oak Are Lacking Scoring Abilities Lately” – Top Coach

Hearts of Oak’s league title defence keeps looking bleak after pulling a point against Bechem United on Saturday.

The Phobians rallied from a goal down to draw 1-1 with the Hunters at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in week 28. Emmanuel Owusu’s 30th minute opener was cancelled by Hearts of Oak young froward, Seidu Suraj on the 45th plus added minutes. Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu attributes their 1-1 drawn game to his side’s lack of scoring abilities.

“We were lacking scoring abilities but I sat down with them and we talked and we practised it and I fbi k that it now got into their head. “Though we squandered a lot of chances but I believe gradually, it will also come,” Samuel Boadu told StarTimes. “It’s quite unfortunate that we didn’t start this season very well but I believe getting to the end, better things will happen.” He added. “All that is, we are playing March after match, now we are done with this one, the next one we are going to prepare towards it and I believe that if we take match after match and we make sure that we all out in every match that we play, I think that at the end of the season, Hearts of Oak will be in a better position.” Samuel Boadu concluded.

Hearts of Oak, treble winners from last season, are 3rd on the 2021/22 league table with 44 points from 28 games. They are 11 points behind first placed and rivals, Asante Kotoko and three less than second placed Bechem United. They could drop to 5th if Medeama who have 43 points beat AshantiGold in week 28 at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Sunday.
