The Kumasi based rapper Derrick Sarfo Kantanka popularly known in the entertainment fraternity as Amerado has frankly come out with a just conclusion concerning the two biggest cities, Kumasi and Accra where he actually rose to a stardom.
He unravelled to the host of Wontumi Entertainment Zone, Vincent Osei Kofi aka Stain without equivocation on the issue that keeps on bothering Ghanaians concerning why being a Kumasi based artiste he couldn’t shine in the Garden City but rather in the shores of Greater Accra
“Kumasi has many talent, I was working at a hospital at Ejisu Krapah and I had to move along with my music career to the Greater Accra where my seniors were schooling. As a Bantama guy, I strived hard also at Kwadaso Estate but in Kumasi, shows dont normally go on and the motivation is not that much greater but in Accra, many shows go on, programmes are held at the National Theatre etc”.
Amerado was among the top artiste and entertainment celebrities that graced the Wontumi Entertainment Zone programme launch the former MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour known in the entertainment hub as Obour, Ras Nene aka Dr Likee, Matilda Asare, Okyeame Kwame and many others
The Yeete Nsem hitmaker is arguably the top notch rapper and the defending champions of the best rapper, an accolade he holds from the 3Music Awards in Ghana. Amerado remains the only Kumasi based artiste to have swooped this award.
He completed the KNUST Senior High School in Kumasi and remains a strong and formidable musician in the country so far and his presence at the Wontumi Entertainment Zone was really a greater force to be reckoned with.
Amerado has already featured heavyweight musicians in Ghana Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta, Black Sheriff and many others and he looks quiet fascinating in his music career.
