Speaking at the just-ended May Day celebration, the incumbent President, Nana Akufo Addo unexpectedly revealed that, the NPP government under his administration is undoubtedly better managers of the economy unlike the former President, John Mahama.

In addition to this, President Akufo Addo highlighted that the economic growth of the country was at 3.4% during Mahama’s tenure in 2016 but the annual economic growth rate increased to 7% in his first term in office before the Covid pandemic struck hence causing more harm than good to the country’s economy.

“Just as we have worked together to reduce significantly the impact of Covid on lives and livelihoods; and just as we worked together to grow the economy from the 3.4% I inherited in 2016, to an average annual growth rate of 7% in my first term before the pandemic struck, making us one of the fastest-growing economies in the world”, President Akufo Addo emphatically revealed.
