The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has acquired a new headquarters complex for Ghana Army’s (GA) foremost Special Forces (SF) – 64 Infantry Regiment (Home of The Brave), the fully – fledged special operations unit under GA’s Special Operations Brigade (ASOB) to aid in the administrative discharge of the Unit’s duties, after being hosted for so long by the 153 Armoured Regiment.Â
The Headquarters Complex comprise of an administration block, a Square, Guard room and two Drill Sheds. It was commissioned by the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces, Vice Admiral (V/Adm) Seth Amoama, who was the Guest – of – Honour alongside Brigadier General (Brig Gen) George Partington (Rtd), who was Special Guest, on Friday April 29, 2022, at Burma Camp, Accra.Â

During the commissioning, in a speech the CDS stated that “a good working environment, in terms of office space and accommodation, are critical requirements for the efficient functioning of the Armed Forces, and it is the reason why the expansion of the GAF calls for a corresponding adequate office space and accommodation for personnel”.
He further emphasized that infrastructural development the focus of the Government of Ghana, to ensure that the necessary baseline facilities are in place to propel development. In these sense the State, is making every efforts and taking strides to bridge the gap through the provision of infrastructure for the military over the years has made.
The construction of the HQ building and the Square, was fully funded and constructed by Mr Michael Zormelo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OMNI Group of Companies, through one of its subsidiaries – MUSEK Engineering Ltd, as well as other private partners who contributed to other sections, as a gift to the GA.
