Many marriages in the world are coming to abrupt ends in just a twinkle of an eye and it can sometimes be saddening. All the vows made in the church no more count in these days. “The for better for worse”, “Till death do us apart” are all but mere statements made by the couple.
Marriage is supposed to be a long journey but nowadays, it has been made short in many homes and this ends up affecting the couple.
The root cause of this problem has been identified and this article seeks to enlighten readers on it, so they do not walk on the same bitter path. Let us go through them;
1. Some people marry not because of love but they feel they are getting old. This happens especially in ladies. They sometimes think they are aging and decide to settle for anyone else instead of choosing the right partner.
2. Some people marry out of pity. This happens when a person thinks they dated their partner for years and therefore, they will get hurt if they decide to break up. So out of pity, they marry them and this normally don’t last.
3. Some people marry because they need someone to support them financially. This sounds sweet from the start but it usually doesn’t age well.
4. Some people marry because of pressure from their families. Their family members tell them to either marry or leave their house and for that matter, they decide to settle with anyone else.
5. Don’t marry because you have children with your partner. Some people especially women, are in abusive relationships and they are suffering, but they decide to ignore all the suffering and marry their abusive partners. This is just because they have kids with them and therefore cannot part ways with them.
6. Don’t marry based on tribe. Some people’s soulmates are from different tribes but since their family wants them to marry from their tribe, they tend to ignore the real ones and go for the fake ones.
7. Don’t marry because your parents suggested the partner. Some people call this an “arranged marriage”. Out of nowhere, they bring a partner and force you to marry them. The question is, can you connect with that person? If not, the marriage will never last.
8. Don’t marry because you are lonely. Some people feel that all their friends are married and they are left out, so they try to impress their friends by rushing into marriages.
9. Don’t marry just because you love the idea of having kids. This is a very bad move and I would advise people to take note of it.
10. Don’t marry because of bedroom pleasures. At a point in marriage, performance in the bedroom wouldn’t really matter. That is when some couples realize they have made a mistake.
