Without This African Country, There Would Be No African Organization (AU).

Without Morocco, there would be no African .

In 1961, Casablanca at the time of the establishment and building of African unity, the leaders of liberated Africa met at the invitation of the actual founder, King Mohammed V of Morocco. His Majesty the late King Mohammed V, who was considered at the time a symbol of the African revolution, called for the Casablanca Conference. Egypt, Morocco, the Interim Government of Algeria, Ghana, Guinea, Mali and Libya participated in it.

This seeming great gesture resulted in a set of recommendations, most notably the call for African unity and affirmation of non – alignment and positive bias, combating colonialism and emphasizing the principle of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of member states. And also encourage political and economic integration among member states.

Currently the African Union (AU), a continental body consisting of the 55 member states that make up the countries of the African Continent is in full force as a successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU, 1963-1999). The was officially launched in 2002.
