The E-levy Brouhaha Causes More Confusion- Sam George claps at GRA After These Changes

Sam George begun by saying the e-levy was irrelevant and would never be passed. Well, we watched him and his team of parliamentarians fight their way through the abolishment of the outrageous tax but this was all futile. Their efforts did not yield the results we expected and the e-levy bill was passed and made one of Ghana’s most controversial bills. Nana Addo accepted this after a prior statement insisting that whether we like it or not as Ghanaians, the bill should be passed. If you have been current with my posts on the e-levy, you’ll know that the president and his ministers were in hot soups after accepting this.

Earlier today, the Ghana revenue authority, GRA revealed that the e-levy which was going to be collected in no time would be approached from another angle. From what they described, the earlier suggested method of collection and operation will cripple the idea and heavily affect the agenda behind the collection of the e-levy. The e-levy is supposed to begin in a way that will avoid the heavy criticism that has been harbored in the hearts of many Ghanaians who are displeased with the idea.

Sam George who has been against this since the dawn of time has come out to criticize the GRA for not knowing what they are about. According to the GRA as stated earlier, they are going to begin their collection in a different approach rather than the earlier mentioned approach.

This according to Sam George again is a precursor of failure in what they have incriminated Ghanaians with. He says the GRA do not listen and there is no surprise as to why they are struggling currently with this collection approach. The collection of the e-levy in itself has created enough news and headlines already. As a result, a single spark of failure or mishandling will result in a much heated criticism against this government.
