A casanova husband and his wife have run into trouble with the law after they jointly seized, beat up and caged a “side chick”, girlfriend of the man.
Oko Agyemang, a mason, lives together with his wife at Ahenema-Kokoben and has been having an extra-marital affair with Helena Opoku.
He is said to have seduced Helena by lying to her that his marriage with Christiana has been dissolved – they are separated.
Helena about three months after becoming sexually involved with Oko Agyemang got to know that, she had been deceived – her man was keeping his marriage.
Driven by either jealousy or stupidity or both, Helena on Monday, April 18, 2022, at about 7 pm went to the house where Oko Agyemang has been living with his wife, Christiana, to break the news to her about her being romantically involved with her husband and to apologize for doing that.
Christiana, who could not stand the idea of sharing Oko Agyemang with another woman, grabbed a metal bar and started hitting her with it.
She was joined by the husband to teach her a better lesson as they beat the hell out of her, dragged her to a room in the house and locked her up – caged her until the next morning before they freed her.
With bruises and cuts all over her body, she headed straight to the police station to file a formal complaint and the husband and wife were arrested to face the law.
Oko Agyemang and Christiana have already appeared before the Asante-Bekwai Circuit Court to answer for their action.
They admitted guilt for beating up Helena. They were subsequently convicted by the circuit court presided over by Mark Tair-ima Diboro.
They would now get to know their punishment on May 21, 2022 when the court reconvenes.
