Deputy General Secretary of the governing NPP Nana Obiri Boahene has added his voice to the NPP flagbearership race between Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. He believes that pairing Alan and Bawumia is a good suggestion and can ensure victory in 2024 elections.
In an interview with Okay Fm, on Wednesday, 27th April 2022, Nana Obiri Boahene said that he disagree with the suggestion of Kwadwo Mpiani. “Even though Kwadwo Mpiani is a disciplinarian and a guru in NPP, but I am also entitled to my opinion. I strongly support Nana Akomea’s suggestion of pairing Alan and Bawumia.” He added.
According to Obiri Boahene, pairing the duo will help check the unnecessary faction and disunity the struggle for flag bearer may create in the NPP. He advised that it’s time for a sobber reflection from both Alan and Bawumia. They should reflect alone and stop listening to what their supporters are saying.
He also said it’s time for the big men in NPP like former President Agyekum Kuffour, Nana Akufo-Addo, Elizabeth Ohene and others to call Alan and Bawumia and show them the way forward.
