Seven years down – the – line, winner of the 2015 TV3 Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant, Vera Oheneba Safoah, popularly known as Esi, continues to run after her passion with an unreserved enthusiasm to help reduce teenage pregnancies in Ghana.Â
Her bona-fide love and passion to see every Ghanaian youth especially young girls pursue and achieve their dreams and aspirations is what continues to drive this authentic course.Â
The beautiful and intelligent queen, soon after winning the GMB Pageant established a foundation called the Pempamsie Foundation.
Pempamsie is a terminology derived from the Adinkra symbol which means to fix or mend something for posterity.Â
Pempamsie Foundation is geared towards reducing teenage pregnancies and its impacts on the adolescent girl.Â
The beautiful queen embarks on this by continually educating the vulnerable girl child to abstain from pre-marital and unprotected sex.Â
Additionally, she also engages teenage mothers in vocational training such as sewing and hairdressing.Â
Recently, Vera Oheneba Safoah, through the Pempamsie foundation partnered the Kwesi Afful foundation to organize a party for children at Abura in Cape Coast during the Easter Monday holiday.Â
Her supported the program with 2000 exercise books and 500 textbooks for some selected senior high schools.Â
She also provided assorted learning materials such as mathematical set, pens and pencils, rulers and school bags to kids who were present at the party.Â
During the program, the 2015 GMB Queen, admonished the children of recalcitrance and trauency, which in her view are the major contributory factors to teenage pregnancy and school drop out.Â
Her foundation’s partnership with Kwesi Afful foundation which also empowers the youth towards achieving their dreams through its scholarship programs and vocational training may take place in the foreseeable years due their shared goals and objectives.Â
Esi is currently pursuing a professional law program at the Ghana School of Law and will be soon called to the Ghana Bar.Â
