Johnnies Bite is gradually becoming the toast of many in the country, especially sympathizers of the biggest opposition. Those of the NPP have however tagged the programme as pro NDC though the host Johnnie Hughes claims he is doing his work as a journalist and merely asking the right questions to keep the government on her toes.
On today’s Johnnies Bite, Johnnie raised questions about the inability for the government to pay salaries of the National Service Personnel. In a letter he displayed he noted why people who wanted to contest in various positions of the National Service Scheme have to pay about 1,500 cedis as nomination for presidents and 1,200 for other positions. He explained that it will be difficult for people earning about 559 cedis to pay this amount.
According to Johnnie these are some of the reasons why politics is at play everywhere because he pointed out that a party father or god father will pay for his or her nominee so he wins and then use the position to propagate party ideas.
He called on party people to stop the politicization of everything in the country. Johnnie noted that everything in the country is up for sale and called for pseudo politicians at the National Service secretariat to reduce the money statedo for filling to allow people of competence to apply. Johnnie concluded that a reduction will keep politicians from sponsoring people to attend elections in student activities.
