I traveled to Japan as a journalist and never returned – Former sports presenter reveals

Former Sports Presenter based in Japan, Raymond Yeboah AKA Atubam, has disclosed that the former GFA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi helped him secure a visa to cover a friendly match between the Black Stars and Japan.

In a chat on ‘Daily Hustle Worldwide,’ Raymond indicated that his dream country was Japan and decided not to return to Ghana after the friendly match.

According to Raymond, he had a relationship with Kwasi Nyantakyi and the former Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah. He added that

“I told Kwesi Nyantakyi to help me travel to Japan because it was my dream country. He helped me get a visa, and Isaac Asiamah bought the ticket for me. After the match, I did not return. They continued the journey to Europe, but I did not go with them,” he said.

“Kwesi Nyantakyi had no idea that I would not return. All I wanted was for the match to end so that I could find my way out of the stadium,”

Atubam revealed that he did not know anyone in Japan, but he wanted to stay, and “I had only $100 on me.” I told someone about it, and he introduced me to a Ghanaian in Japan.”

He added that he visited the Japanese immigration and immediately sought asylum in Japan.
