Movies, as we all know, can have either negative or positive effects on the viewer. According some experts, movies can change young People’s attitudes after watching the Movie.
The question is, how do movies influence children’s behavior, or attitude towards things?
Experts have revealed that people, especially kids “can be upset when they watched movies that are very frightening; or movies which display evil against kids and parents.
In my case, my kids used to love toys. They loved toys like robots, toys with human or animal figure, dolls, etc.
My children’s love for toys grew more and more until one day, when i allowed them to watched a movie called ‘Child’s Play’. This movie actually changed their attitudes toward toys.
I remember, that prior to watching the movie, my kids loved playing so much with doll and other different types of toys. They loved placing toys on their beds when going to sleep. They also sometimes hide them in their school bags, when going to school. They actually had no fears for toys, until i brought inn the movies….’Child’s Play’.
‘Child’s Play’, is an American horror movie released on November 9, 1988. The story is about an evil doll named “Chucky.” This doll has been possessed by the mind, and soul of serial killer, who studied voodoo from a black magician. After the man was short by a cop, and left to die in a toy store, but he was able to gather enough energy, to utter a voodoo incantation, and transferred his evil soul into one of the dolls in the toy shop.
A young widow, later came to the shop to buy the toy (Chucky), for his little son, unaware that the doll was possessed with evil. Though there were few killings, the ‘Child’s Play’ movie displayed a lot of scary and violence scenes.
‘Hell broke lose’, when the family latter found out, the the innocent looking toy, was actually having life in it, and killed almost everyone, who tries to stop its mission, of transferring its soul into the little boy.
‘Child’s Play’ ends with a superb demonstration; once you kill the the doll, he is never really dead. He looks dead, but in a moment that looks peaceful, the god-awful thing comes back to life again, and tries killing.
The ‘Child’s Play’ movie was given a 15 rating by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). This means “No persons younger than 15 years of age, is allowed to watch the movie in a cinema”.
After watching movie, and seeing all the atrocities committed by the Doll in the movie, my kids developed so much fear for toys in general, the threw out every toy or dolls in their rooms, and have never asked for toys in any form, and never near toys again.
This movies (Child’d Play), has really changed my kids attitude towards toys; what about you…which movies do you also know, that can really change people’s attitude?
