Record Ghana top scorer Asamoah Gyan has said he aims to coach the Black Stars in future and will work towards that.
The former Liberty Professionals and Legon Cities player said he will begin his coaching badges in June with a future aim of coaching the national team.
“I will like to coach the Black Stars but everything takes time. First, I need to work on my coaching course, and, I am due to begin in June or July after that we will see”, Gyan told Accra based radio station Citi FM.
Gyan is currently Ghana’s record goal scorer with 51 goals having played at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup in Germany, South Africa and Brazil respectively.
Gyan, 36, has not retired from active football and plans to play for Ghana’s most successful football club Asante Kotoko before he hangs his boots.
Ghana has qualified to play at the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qater in November and December and if he should remain fit and on form, Gyan will look to be part of the Black Stars squad.
He is Africa’s leading scorer at the Mundial with six goals and, he will look to extend it if he makes the Ghana squad.
