The Deputy Finance Minister and member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, Hon. John Kumah has boldly revealed unexpected secrets about minimum wage in Akufo-Addo’s government and why the government is unable to pay more.
While speaking on News File on Joy News this Saturday, April 23, 2022, Hon. John Kumah revealed that the government does not have available or enough resources to pay more when it comes to a minimum wage in the country. He revealed this when Samson Lardy asked him about how low the minimum wage is in Ghana.
But my question for Hon. John Kumah or the NPP government is, where do they get the available resources to increase the salaries of MPs by 70 percent and over?
” Even though the country appreciates workers in the country and their contributions to the nation, the reality is, sometimes the available resources do not allow the government to push to the level workers expect from the government.” John Kumah boldly revealed this on Joy News.
The members of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOSSAG) embarked on strike action on April 21 to complain about neutrality allowance.
Thanks for reading this article. Do you agree with John Kumah or you rather agree with my question posed to him?
Do you also think the minimum wage in Ghana is very low?
