Arsenal are getting closer to their champions league dream after another vintage performance handed them all the 3 points against Manchester United at the Emirates this afternoon. This is the second time in the week they have defeated another top 6 team. Earlier in the week, they walloped Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge by 4 goals to 2. Arsenal made their intentions clear right from the blast of the whistle this afternoon. It took less than 3 minutes for them to score the opener through Nuno Tavares.
It’s been been tough for the youngster in their past few matches. It was a good show from him today but he can get better. Bukayo Saka doubled the lead from the penalty spot some few minutes later before Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back for the red devils before the break. Manchester United created a lot of opportunities but couldn’t take them. Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty which could have drawn them level in the game.
Their profligacy in front of goal was punished when Granit Xhala rifled in a thunderous shot to seal the points for the gunners. They have moved back into the 4th position 2 points ahead of Tottenham Hotspurs who drew with Brentford.
