Former Black Stars striker, Asamoah Gyan says he admires Ghana Premier League club, Asante Kotoko very much.
The 36-year-old has been out of football for sometime since leaving Ghana Premier League club, Legon Cities FC. He made intentions earlier of playing for Asante Kotoko but the deal fell through at the eleventh hour. The former Sunderland striker has now openly declared his desire to wear the red jersey if he has to start playing football again.
“If I want to play, I want to play locally, Kotoko. “I’m a huge Kotoko fan, for all these years I was born in Accra and I admired them from afar, some of the players I played with. “I can never disrespect Accra Hearts of Oak but I’m a Kotoko huge fan.
“It doesn’t mean if I see Accra Hearts I will be.. no no, they are a huge club but I have got my team that I support.” Asamoah Gyan said. Gyan is the record African top scorer at the FIFA World Cup as well as Ghana’s all time top scorer.
