A 32-year old over possessive boyfriend who eavesdropped on the phone call of his lover with another man and grew mad with rage over his suspicion that the woman is cheating on him, has landed into trouble for seizing and smashing the girlfriend’s iPhone 12 ProMax 128gig, costing Ghs8,000.00.
Douglas Nana Yeboah is romantically involved with Juliet Imoti, a beautician, and the two lovebirds stay in different communities in Atwima-Kwanwoma District, which are not far apart.
Douglas lives in Brofoyedru-Adumasa and Juliet is residing at Ahenena-Kokoben.
Douglas visited with his girlfriend on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at about 10 pm and whilst in her room together, there was a knock on the door and he could not understand why somebody should come knocking at her door at that hour.
Juliet could not give him any convincing explanation and he decided to leave for his place in anger.
Douglas has just stepped out of the room when he heard Juliet in a phone call telling somebody to come over and he could simply not stand that.
He dashed back to Juliet’s room, seized the iPhone ProMax and smashed it on ground, rendering it a complete wreck.
Juliet would have none of that from the boyfriend and filed a report with the police, leading to his arrest and subsequent slapping with the criminal charge of causing unlawful damage.
Douglas has already appeared before the Asante-Bekwai Circuit Court, presided over by Mark Timara Diboro, to answer for what he did.
Douglas admitted guilt when he was asked to make a plea in the court.
The circuit court convicted him based on his own guilty plea and he would get to know of his punishment – whether he is going to be made to pay a fine or serve a term in jail or both, come Wednesday, April 21, 2022.
