Manchester United set a New Record this season After Liverpool’s Defeat

Individuals or groups of people sometimes find themselves in the news for various reasons, and today is one of such days where a record has been set. In today’s event of Premier League, Liverpool welcomed Manchester United at Anfield for round 30th postponed fixture and it was quite fascinating for the ‘Red Devils’.

Back in the days when Manchester United was the most dominant side six years ago, they have fallen short and lost touch with ‘the Reds’ for three years now, losing five of out eight league games summoning three draws.

With that being said, At Anfield, Manchester United failed to record a single shot attempt, a record they haven’t set against any opponents this season at halftime. They barely move the ball to the center half of the pitch controlling 24% of ball possession. Reckoning the first leg where they lost by 5-0 to Liverpool, they had a quite few shots on target at both halves.

At the end whistle, four goals went past David De Gea due to poor positioning and timing from the back three – Harry Maguire, Phil Jones, and Victor Lindelof talk of the first goal which Luiz Diaz scored through counterattacks within five minutes of interaction. Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Luiz Diaz were all on target, assisting each other as well.

A point below league leaders Manchester City in a gap prior to today’s encounter, Liverpool now leads the race with two points at the top spot.
