Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has asserted Ruben Loftus-Cheek has concealed his ability and potential for several years after his FA Cup semi-final goal against Crystal Palace.
The Blues battled to separate Palace in the first half and it was the Chiekhou Kouyate who went nearest as his gave drew a fine save from Edouard Mendy.
However, second-part goals from Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount saw Chelsea advance to their third FA Cup final in succession and set up a clash with Liverpool at Wembley on May 14.
Addressing the media after the game, Tuchel said: “It was difficult because we played three games in three unique contests. It is generally difficult, exceptionally testing, we are the team with the most minutes in Europe I think, it is additionally difficult intellectually.
“I thought the performance was exceptionally controlled and intense, we dealt with their counterattacks. It was hard, the rival changed the system two times, and you can’t lose center briefly.
“He [Ruben Loftus-Cheek] was extremely, solid in matches against Southampton and Real Madrid, he would have had the right to begin yet we anticipated a back four. We realized Ruben would have a major effect on the seat. I’m extremely blissful.
“He concealed his ability and potential for quite a while in his career. He is equipped for creating exhibitions that everybody sees on the pitch. For him it is bit by bit that he keeps on filling in his certainty.”
