The difference between the world tallest man and the shortest in the Guinness Book of Records

Nothing comes by mistake. Nature knows why we have differences in creation. The first time they met, the man with the tallest recorded height in the world and the shortest man in the world met at an event in London, where they posed for photos and stretched for a handshake.

The world’s tallest man

The current world’s tallest man (as of 2016) is Sultan Kosen, who measures 251 cm (8 ft 3 in) and was measured by Guinness World Records on February 9, 2011. He is from Turkey and was 33 years old in 2016. He took over the title from China’s Bao Xishun, who was “only” 2.36m. There may be a taller man-Ukrainian Leonid Stadnyk claims to be 10.5cm taller than Mr. Kosen, though he fails to qualify for the record because he refused to be measured by Guinness World Records officials.

As with many of the world’s tallest men, he has had a dysfunction with his body’s release of growth hormone. Kosen’s rate of growth surged from the age of ten because of a tumor that caused too much growth hormone to be released from his pituitary gland. The tumor was successfully removed by surgery, and he finally stopped growing in 2008.

Sultan Kosen also has the record for the world’s largest hands and feet, measuring 27.5cm and 36.5cm, respectively. Such sized hands would be very advantageous in many sports.

The world’s shortest man

Chandra Bahadur Dangi, from Nepal, who died in 1015 aged 75, has been declared the shortest human adult ever documented, taking the mantle from India’s Gul Mohammed, who was measured at 57cm before he died in 1997 aged 40. The current world’s shortest man is the Filipino Junrey Balawing.

Black or white, tall or short, thin or fat, we are all created for a purpose known only by the Almighty God himself. The master creator knows the best for us. Let’s unite as one in love and harmony.
