As compared to the previous year, the school academic year 2022 is different from the previous year one. All public schools began their first term on the 12th of January and will finish their final term on the 17th of March in the year 2022, with the exception of private schools.
As reported by the Department of Education, schools in Limpopo, the Free State, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and the Northwest began their first term on the 12th of January and will finish on the 17th of March for term 1.
This applies to the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape, the Eastern Cape, and the Western Cape for term 1, schools will open on the 17th (19th) of March for the first term, and they will close on the 25th of March 2022.
