I’ve forgiven you for not winning the AFCON but return the money – Guinea military ruler tells players  » ™

Guinean military officer serving as the interim president, Mamady Doumbouya has demanded that the Guinean national team returns the rest of the money covering their AFCON expenses.

The Syli Nationale were paired in Group B of the AFCON alongside Malawi, Senegal, and Zimbabwe. Guinea qualified to the next round of 16 but was surprisingly booted out by minnows Gambia.

Before their participation in the big tournament, President Doumbouya tasked the team to win the cup or risk reimbursing every money invested in them.

“The cup or you reimburse the money that’s been invested in you,” the Guinean President sternly warned the players, as quoted by African Insider.

In this new development, the president has reportedly told them he has forgiven them and invalidated his earlier warning but they have to return the money they were given that covered their expense from the quarterfinals all the way to the grand finale.

Ghanaian journalist Saddick Adams aka Sports Obama dropped this information on social media.
