Police Wages War On Criminal Gangs, Place ¢20k Bounty On Nima-Maamobi Clash Leaders | General News

The Ghana Police Service is waging war on criminal gangs in the country.

This follows a violent clash on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, between two factions namely: the Bombom group and the Kumordzie group led by Ali Awudu and Ibrahim Husein respectively.

So far, “7 persons have been arrested. 5 are presently here with us, and the other two are on admission at the Police hospital”

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Kwesi Ofori in an interview on Peace FM‘s morning show ‘Kokrokoo‘ said “the police is putting up a strategic intervention mechanism which will deal with all criminal gangs and other gangs that are unlawful. We will make sure we partner community, chiefs, leaders, youth groups to curb this menace”

“We assure Ghanaians that the police will deal with these gangs and bring peace and safety to the community” he added.

Meanwhile, the Police have placed a GH¢20,000 bounty on the leaders of the two groups involved in violent clashes at Nima.
