Education Ministry Gives Date To Recruit Graduate Teachers In 2022

The Ministry of Education (MoE) mid-January or late February this year is expected to be given financial clearance for the Ghana Education Service (GES) to recruit graduates teachers, the Spokes person of the Ministry of Education revealed on his official Facebook page.

The MoE official, Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng on Saturday said the Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) will only consider graduate teachers who have completed national service and passed the teacher licensure examination for the 2022 recruitment.

“We last year petitioned the Ministry of Finance to increase the clearance for graduate teachers to be recruited in 2021 but it was agreed for only 16,850 newly trained teachers to be recruited and the graduates later this year,” he stated.

The Education Ministry staff furthered stated that “MoE is hoping mid-January or late February this year, the Finance Ministry gives financial clearance for graduates to be employed by the Ghana Education Service to support Free SHS/TVET.”

Asked if his outfit is considering E-deployment as indicated by the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Adutwum, the MoE staff said plans are underway for a placement system to be created for new teachers to select areas to be posted to.

“It is something we are working on, the E-Deployment as described by the Education Minister will give new teachers to be recruited the opportunity to select rural areas to be posted with incentives and other juicy packages,” he added.

The Ministry official following the impending recruitment has advised graduates seeking to be employed to pay attention to job announcements put out by his outfit in terms of what criteria the recruitment financial clearance is.

“The Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service usually announce the recruitment teachers on our various social media handles, I will urge those seeking to be recruited this year to pay attention to such adverts,” he added.
