Obi Not Wish Of Most Nigerians – Atiku Replies Obasanjo

They campaign of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi as his wish.

Obasanjo in a letter on Sunday morning endorsed Obi for the February 2023 presidential election.

Reacting to this, the spokesperson of the Atiku Presidential Campaign, Kola Ologbondiyan on Sunday said Obasanjo’s endorsement does not reflect the wishes of most Nigerians.

Atiku’s campaign said Obi does not have the requisite experience, adding that the PDP candidate is the most experienced among all candidates.

Wike Visits Peter Odili, Says PDP Fully Ready for Elections

RIVERS State governor, Nyesom Wike has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is fully prepared for the 2023 general elections in the state.

declaration was the refrain in the governor’s new year visits to former Rivers governor, Dr Peter Odili in Port Harcourt and His Royal Majesty, Nne-Nwe-Eli Emohua XIII (OLO IV), Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse in Emohua respectively on Sunday.

The Rivers State governor told Dr Odili that he remains eternally grateful for the support he has rendered to his administration since 2015.

Governor Wike was accompanied by the PDP governorship candidate, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, senatorial candidates for Rivers South East and Rivers East, Senator Barry Mpigi and Allwell Onyesoh, member of the House of Representatives, Ken Chikere and others.

Thugs Attack Tambuwal’s Convoy In Sokoto

Hoodlums on Sunday have attacked the convoy of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday when Tambuwal and other government officials were returning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) statewide electioneering campaign in Silame and Wamakko Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.

A source who spoke under condition of anonymity revealed that the assailants threw stones at the moving vehicles in the convoy, striking the front windscreen of the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity’s SUV.

He added that the stones also pierced the rear screen of the following official SUV of the Permanent Secretary (Protocol) to the Governor.

Lagos-Ibadan Expressway: Seven Die In New Year Tragedy

No fewer than seven persons were confirmed dead on Sunday while 16 others sustained injuries in an accident involving a Toyota Hiace bus and Mack tanker a few meters from Gofamaint on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun, Mr Ahmed Umar, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.

Umar said that the accident occurred at 4:10 pm and was caused by excessive speed on the part of the bus driver who lost control and rammed into the tanker from behind.
