The beginning of the new year on Saturday January 1 2022 means that the 2022 mid-season transfer window is now officially opened for football clubs in England, Scotland,and some other parts of Europe.

Other top European leagues like the LaLiga Santander and Serie A will have to wait until Monday 3rd January 2022 before any sort of transfer or changes can be made to their squad,with the transfer market promising to offer a lot this month.

As transfer rumors and speculations linking different players to top European clubs takes up the bulk of discussion amongst football fans,here are top 10 transfer deals which could be completed this month;

1. Alvaro Morata to FC Barcelona

After landing former Manchester City’s forward Ferran Torres on a mouth watering deal to Camp Nou a few weeks ago,Xavi Hernandez is also reportedly looking to sign current Juventus forward and former Atletico Madrid player Alvaro Morata on a two year deal at FC Barcelona.

The only glitch in Alvaro Morata’s contract came when Juventus made it known that they wouldn’t like a Memphis Depay swap in the deal,with FC Barcelona placing €40 million on the table for the 29 year old Spaniard.

2. Adama Traore to Tottenham Hotspur

As part of his rebuilding process at Tottenham Hotspur, Antonio Conte could make current Wolverhampton Wanderers player,Adama Traore his first major signing at the London club.

The 25 year old winger has been tipped to fit into Antonio Conte’s playing style,even as Wolverhampton Wanderers are yet to get an official offer from Tottenham.

3. Kieran Trippier to Newcastle United

After a failed €14 million move to Manchester United last summer,31 year old right back Kieran Trippier could be set on a move to Newcastle United this January,as Atletico Madrid’s coach,Diego Simeone said it was in the player’s hands to decide if he wanted a move out of Spain.

With Chelsea still being linked to the Englishman, Newcastle United could either sign him this month or risk losing him to another club.

4. Axel Tuanxabe to SSC Napoli

As per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United and SSC Napoli have agreed a €500 thousand loan move for 24 year old center back,Axel Tuanxabe this month.

With the deal yet to be finalized and announced,the beginning of the transfer window in the Serie A on Monday 3rd January could see the deal made open and finalized.

5. Lorenzo Insigne to Toronto FC

As per multiple reports,MLS side Toronto FC have offered 30 year old SSC Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne €11.5 million per season on a five year deal, with the Italian seriously considering joining them this coming summer as a free agent when his contract with Napoli runs out.

6. Lucas Digne to Chelsea

After Ben Chilwell was ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury to his thigh,the London club has reportedly opened talks on 28 year old Everton left back,Lucas Digne.

With the talks to recall Emerson from Olympique Lyon not yielding results,Thomas Tuchel could land Lucas Digne in a January deal to Stamford Bridge.

7. Jonathan David to Arsenal

As Arsenal’s head coach,Mikel Arteta continues to look for attacking options to boost his squad,21 year old Canadian forward,Jonathan David has been reportedly placed on the radar of Arsenal.

The current Lille OSC player could either sign for the Gunners this month,or else see out the end of his contract with the current Ligue 1 defending Champions, Lille OSC.

8. Anthony Martial to Sevilla

After Manchester United rejected Sevilla’s terms for a loan move for 28 year old Anthony Martial,the offers could be reignited this month as the 2022 transfer window opens.

Manchester United’s stand is clear; They want Anthony Martial’s wages paid in full with a loan move for him,but the former could keep Anthony Martial if Sevilla doesn’t meet their conditions.

9. Ousmane Dembele to Newcastle United

After a failed contract extension with the Blaugranas, 24 year old French winger Ousmane Dembele could be headed for a move to the Premier League this month.

The French winger who wanted a €20 million signing bonus added to his contract by FC Barcelona could get a move to Newcastle United this January,after being placed on the radar of potential signings by the club.

10. Gini Wijnadum to Newcastle United

After reportedly being unhappy at the Parc des Princes, 31 year old Gini Wijnadum could be one of the several players who could be signed by Newcastle United this January.

However, Newcastle United is yet to submit an official bid for Gini Wijnadum to Paris Saint Germain.
