Confirmed: Teacher And Nursing Training Allowance Not Cancelled (MoE)

The Ministry of Education (MoE) following claims the government in 2022 will cancel the nursing and teacher trainees allowance has urged members of the public to disregard publication as a false report.

The Management of Ministry of Education has cleared the air concerning the purported cancellation of teacher and nursing trainees allowances.

In a letter dated Thursday 31st December 2021, and signed by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Emmanuel Akwasi Kwarteng, it said

“The Ministry’s attention has been drawn to publications by some media houses in which the writers are circulating fabricated news to misinform the public regarding the cancellation of teacher and nurse trainees’ allowances.”

The release letter explained the CURRENT STATE of Nurses and Teacher Trainees allowance and emphasized that there is no plans of cancellation of allowances.

“The Ministry of Education has not engaged in any consultations whatsoever regarding the cancellation of the teacher and nurse trainees’ allowances.” The released said.

This may be good news for parents and the public who wants their children to pass through colleges of education or nurses training colleges.

The Ministry of Education is therefore urging all Ghanaians, especially teachers and nursing trainees to disregard and treat those claims of allowances cancellation as false publications which has no merit.

The purpoted circulation said that the government of Ghana is cancelling teachers and nurses trainees allowances in 2022 so that it will be replaced by students loan.

In 2017, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led the government fully restored the nursing and teacher trainee allowances which was scrap in 2014 for teacher trainees.
