IGP Dampare takes his boys by surprise as he storms duty post of random locations with his officers

The inspector general, IGP Dampare Akufo George has kept his promise made to the country and the president after he was given the chance to handle the police force.

He started as an acting IGP for some weeks until he was fully accepted and sworn into office to serve the country and promote peace.

Since his arrival in the police force, there have been a tremendous change and a very massive diffence in the manner in which things operate.

The IGP has currently shown Ghanaians what it means to be competent and committed to what a person does.

Most officials of state and persons in higher ranks take advantage of the positions they occupy and do whatever their heart pleases.

However, one of the things he does most of the time that keeps his men, the police officers in check is his unannounced visits to various places in the country.

He storms duty posts without any announcements in order to see what is actually going on there and whether people are not sleeping on their work.

This is a plus and a trait of a good leader that we think most Ghanaians and people in the security service should emulate.

With the Achiase patrol team, the IGP saw to it that most officers on duty and on highways mounting barricades were high and secured enough to keep the roads clean and safe.

Dampare stormed these places and to his surprise, these officers were still on their feet doing the right thing and that is something we expect from security officers or the police.

Because of the current fluctuations in power and the unsafe roads because of robbers, it is important that the police officers keep their ears on the ground and eyes everywhere.

We need them more than ever and this is an assignment that the IGP seems to understand very well and Ghanaians appreciate him for that.
