King Faisal defender, Atta Kusi is well aware of the fact that their clash against city rivals, Asante Kotoko will be difficult.

The “Insha Allah” Boys are guests of league leaders, Asante Kotoko in a local derby at the Baba Yara Stadium in week six on Sunday in a game which is expected to draw fans of both clubs to the stadium. The two clubs are meeting at the Baba Yara Stadium for the first time in almost two years due to renovation works by the Ghana government which saw both of them turning to different venues to honour home games. Kotoko opted and played briefly at the Accra Sports Stadium before moving their base to the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium while King Faisal chose to honour their home games at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

They have now returned to their home ground and yet to record any defeat in the five week old 2021/22 league season. Kotoko have recorded wins against Bechem United and Eleven Wonders by 2-0 respectively and at the Baba Yara Stadium and King Faisal have claimed 1-0 and 2-0 wins over WAFA and AshantiGold and a goalless draw at home to Medeama. Kusi, who has been part of King Faisal’s sharp rise this season, says, the encounter will be tough as both sides are yet to lose at home.

“Let’s me say the game will be very tough because it is a local derby. “As for Kumasi Kotoko and King Faisal are the only Premier League teams. “So it[the match] will be hotly contested. “Kotoko are also on top of the league table [with 13 points] and King Faisal are second [on 10 points]. “So the game will be very difficult.” Atta Kusi told Africa-foot.com

Atta Kusi has played all five games with one start in King Faisal’s 10 points collection and are just three behind Asante Kotoko who are top of the table. Attah Kusi, 29 , has previously played for relegated Liberty Professionals before joining Asante Kotoko on a free transfer. He had a brief spell with AshantiGold before signing for King Faisal as a free agent.
