Ghanaian social media personality and actress, Rosemond Brown, well known as Akuapem Poloo has been sentenced to a 90-days jail term by the High Court in Accra after her appeal was dismissed.

The actress will be serving her 90-days prison sentence imposed on her by the Circuit court. The High court which Akuapem Poloo appealed for her custodial sentence to be replaced with a fine said that her 90-days sentence was not harsh as stated in her appeal.
The court while affirming the Circuit Court decision said, the punishment imposed was to cause much harm to the convict which will then become a deterrent to herself and others. The High court denounced their interference with the punishment meted out to her by the Circuit court.
She has been asked to continue with her 90-days jail term. The court has also ordered for her young son to be given to a competent person in the family to take care of him while his mother is away.
After her sentence, Akuapem Poloo dropped her first reaction, putting her trust in the Lord as she spends the next 90 days in prison. She has also asked her son to be good until she returns from prison.

As a reminder, Akuapem Poloo was charged with three counts of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence, conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity, and engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detracts or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being. This comes after she displayed her naked picture with her son on social media on June 30, 2020.
