Don’t Change Nana, NPP – Kufuor Warns

John Agyekum Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has cautioned that Ghana will retrogress if electorates make a mistake and change President Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration at the polls on December 7.

He said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) always assumed power only to destroy the gains the NPP made for the country and warned that there should not be a repeat of the 2008 episode.

“Fellow Ghanaians, they say if you will enjoy the game it must have been entertaining from the beginning. We are already enjoying it. We are going to the polls on December 7, why must we disregard the good things we have done so far and go back to start afresh?” he said in a video to endorse President Akufo-Addo’s second term bid.

The former President said, “The next four years, if we leave Ghana in the hands of Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia and the NPP to continue, Ghana will become prosperous because they have started laying a solid foundation for the future.

“They have started on a very good note. Agriculture is booming, there is improvement in the education sector, the health sector is coming up, there are road constructions everywhere, industries are getting back on their feet and the economy is becoming strong, the investors are coming in.”

Mr. Kufuor said “Anytime Ghanaians give power to the NPP we are able to move the country forward by putting in place good and solid programmes and policies. We are able to handle the economy better. The country sees proper development and real progress anytime the NPP is in power.”

“Look at the Free SHS and the impact it is making, potable water for the people, farming, hospitals and health care in general, housing and roads, they are doing it all, so why should we change a good government? Who should we give the power to?” he queried rhetorically, adding “I will make a passionate plea to Ghanaians to be solid behind Akufo-Addo and promote him for four more years to continue on the path of progress he is leading us.”
