Ghanaian Afrobeat singer and rapper, Elorm Adablah, affectionately known as EL has explained the basis on which one needs to be before understanding and enjoying hip-hop music.

Hip hop music, commonly known as rap music, is a popular music genre that originated in the United States in the 1970s among inner-city African Americans and Latinos in the Bronx borough of New York City.

The Hip Hop genre includes stylized rhythmic music that frequently accompanies rapping, as well as recited rhythmic and rhyming words.

EL while speaking in an interview on Adom TV stated that in order to understand Hip Hop music, one needs to be intelligent to be able to relate to the genre on intellectual grounds.

According to him, most Ghanaians do not understand the genre because they are not educated to understand the lyrics of Hip Hop songs.
